About Kirkpatrick & Boswell

Richard C. Kirkpatrick (since retired) established the firm in 1982 in San Luis Obispo, California. Prior to 1982, Mr. Kirkpatrick had worked as a court clerk, bailiff, sheriff's deputy, criminal defense attorney, district attorney, plaintiff's civil attorney, Municipal Court Judge, and Superior Court Judge. Mr. Kirkpatrick also taught business law at Hancock College, and varied classes at the Judge's college.

Mark R. Boswell joined the firm in 1987, and purchased the practice in 1993. The firm specializes in adult and juvenile criminal defense, plaintiff's personal injury, and plaintiff's medical malpractice.

The firm continues to be committed to providing the highest quality legal services for our clients, utilizing cost effective methods and state of the art technology.

Since 1982, Kirkpatrick and Boswell has practiced law continuously from the same location, less than one block from the courthouse. The firm enjoys an excellent reputation with the legal community of San Luis Obispo County.
